craft, brews & mountain views...Forging a New Heart for Bryce Resort
The Challenge:
As longtime visitors to Bryce Resort, we knew its restaurant had the potential to be the true heart of the mountain. The existing space, however, felt dated and closed-off. The challenge was to completely reimagine and renovate the restaurant, transforming it into a vibrant, year-round destination that could serve as a welcoming hub for the entire Shenandoah Valley community. It needed a new identity and an open, energetic layout that encouraged gathering.
The FADE Approach:
This project was a personal journey for us, allowing us to pour our integrated FADE process into a place we love. As Architects, our vision was to open up the floor plan and make a spectacular new bar its centerpiece. The entire design was inspired by the "Copper Kettle" name, using its warm, curved forms to guide the layout. Our Fabrication expertise then forged this concept into reality. We designed and built a series of signature pieces, starting with 3D models and prototypes. This included a laser-cut steel entrance screen with a custom pine cone pattern, and the massive, sculptural copper canopy that now floats above the bar, cleverly housing televisions and lighting.
The Outcome:
The Copper Kettle has been reborn. The once-divided room is now an open, flowing space anchored by the stunning, custom-fabricated bar that draws people in. The warm copper, rich wood, and handcrafted steel details create a unique and authentic atmosphere that can't be found anywhere else. It has successfully become the resort's social hub, a perfect spot for locals and visitors to gather, share a meal, and make memories year-round.
We create unique spaces that reflect a clear vision and a genuine sense of place. If you're ready to redefine your space's identity, let's explore what's possible.
