SOUND & SWEAT...A Monolithic Design for a Powerful Community
The Challenge:
Rev Cycle is a powerful community built around an intense, immersive fitness experience. They needed a physical space to match that energy, but with a critical technical challenge: the cycle stadium, with its concert-level sound system, had to be completely acoustically isolated to avoid disturbing the connecting tenants in the building. The goal was to create a high-energy sanctuary that could be a great business and a good neighbor.
The FADE Approach:
Our Architectural solution was both a powerful aesthetic statement and a feat of acoustic engineering: a 'house within a house.' The cycle stadium was designed as a structurally isolated box, featuring acoustically decoupled walls and ceilings that stop sound and vibration from transferring to the main building. This 'box' was then wrapped in a monolithic, black-stained wood skin, creating a dramatic portal that also serves as a crucial second layer of sound absorption. Our Fabrication expertise ensured lighting and acoustical details were perfectly placed to deliver a premium audio experience on the inside, and quiet on the outside.
The Outcome:
The result is a high-performance space that works on every level. The studio delivers a powerful, immersive audio experience for riders, while the 'house within a house' design successfully contains the energy, ensuring peace for the neighboring tenants. The space perfectly embodies the Rev Cycle brand—powerful and community-focused—while proving that thoughtful, integrated design can solve complex technical challenges without sacrificing an iconic aesthetic.
